Honey Goat Cheese Flatbread
This lemon and honey goat cheese flatbread is so delicious, low effort, and full of flavorful ingredients like tangy, honey-infused goat cheese.
The Starting Five
Five Things to Know Before Making This Dish!
Always use fresh lemon juice—never the bottled stuff!
I use honey-infused goat cheese, but you can use plain goat cheese if you can’t find it (and feel free to add a little honey if it’s in your pantry).
Fresh herbs are best. I recommend buying fresh basil, but you can get away with dried basil.
Don’t skip the lemon zest! It isn’t nearly as tart as lemon juice—it’s bright and refreshing.
A few flakes of sea salt make all of these flavors pop. It’s worth investing in sea salt if you don’t already have it. Ideally, skip the table salt and at least use kosher salt.
Ingredients:
1 store-bought flatbread
[Olive oil]
1 package of Bowl & Basket honey goat cheese
Honey, for drizzling
3-4 basil leaves, chopped or julienned
Zest of 1 large lemon
[Sea salt]
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Brush the top of the flatbread with olive oil, then place it in the oven directly on the rack, and let it bake for 10 minutes to lightly toast it. For crispier flatbread, broil it on high for an additional 2-3 minutes.
3. Remove the flatbread, and top it with chunks of honey goat cheese, a generous honey drizzle, the chopped basil, and lemon zest. Finish it with sea salt, slice, and enjoy!
