Hi, I’m Julia!
Since my Easy Bake Oven days, I’ve always loved food and cooking.
After earning a degree in journalism, I started my career at a food magazine bringing together my love for writing and the kitchen. Today, I live in New Jersey, spend summers at the Jersey Shore, and work as the editor of a local food magazine while running Five Ingredient Feast. And yes, I’m often eating a bowl of mac and cheese.
I believe cooking doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, or intimidating. Here, you’ll find simple, flavorful recipes made with just five main ingredients, plus a few pantry staples like salt, pepper, and olive oil. Every recipe is designed for any skill level, kitchen, or budget—so you can create elevated meals without the stress.
Five Ingredient Feast is here to help you feel confident in the kitchen, have fun with food, and make everyday meals feel a little more special.

Two reasons: Five-ingredient recipes are attainable for anyone, from the novice home cook to the busy parent, which is what I set out to create when I started this brand. No one hears “five ingredients” and thinks there’s a chance it will be too complicated. And admittedly, the second reason is because the name just rolled right off the tongue, and I wanted to stick with it as soon as it popped into my head.

Of course! As long as the ingredients have similar textures, you’re always welcome to adjust based on your own dietary needs and flavor preferences (for example: swapping sour cream for plain Greek yogurt). You can also swap shrimp for chicken, marinara for vodka sauce, and cream cheese for cottage cheese, among others. Just know that each swap will change the flavor profile—but not in a bad way!

Most of my recipes can be prepped in just a few minutes, but ultimately, the cook time varies depending on the type of dish. I have plenty of 10-minute snack recipes and 30-minute dinners if you need something quick, but I’m also a sucker for a good slow-cooker dish.

Because cooking doesn’t have to be complicated! FIF started in 2020—I was a few years out of college and had just moved into my own place (with a small galley kitchen) when I realized that cooking complex meals just wasn’t an everyday option. I started creating simpler dishes and ultimately decided that making five-ingredient recipes wouldn’t only benefit me; it would benefit anyone with a small kitchen, a busy schedule, or even a tighter grocery budget. The idea of creating a recipe brand struck me, and the name sort of invented itself. And here we are!

Everywhere! I’m one of those people who is always excited for her next meal, so I’m constantly thinking about cooking. I get inspiration from whatever I’m craving at the moment, the meals I eat while traveling, the constant rotation of trending ingredients and dishes, and from other amazing recipe creators I’ve grown to know on this journey, to name a few. Everywhere I turn, there’s food inspiration.
